ARA-290 (also known as cibinetide, PHBSP, or ARA290) is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from the helix B surface peptide of erythropoietin (EPO). It selectively activates the innate repair receptor (IRR, a heterodimer of EPO receptor and CD131) for tissue-protective, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective effects without stimulating erythropoiesis (red blood cell production). It has been investigated in preclinical and clinical studies for conditions like neuropathic pain, diabetes complications, sarcoidosis, and neuroprotection.

ARA-290 is a synthetic research peptide engineered from the B-helix domain of erythropoietin.
